Due to the geographical situation in the heart of West Africa, the quality of its road network and sub-regional air transportation, Burkina Faso has potential to become the heart of western Africa tourism. It will attract those fond of adventure and tourism: diversity of the landscapes, abundance of wild fauna, richness and diversity of its cultural and ethnic inheritance, not to mention the warm hospitality of its inhabitants.
Seasons in Burkina
The climate is an attractive feature for tourism in Burkina Faso. Due to its location as a Sahelian country, the climate is hot and dry almost all year long, with good rainfall throughout the rainy season, which corresponds to the European summer.
There are three seasons:
- a cool season, especially around harmattan, November to February;
- a hot season from March to June;
- a rainy season from June to October, with most rainfall in August.
November to February is the most favorable period to visit Burkina Faso.
In recent years, hotel facilities have been improved and diversified in terms of quantity and quality. Quality hotels can be found in the large cities of Ouagadougou and Bobo- Dioulasso, as well as near main cultural and tourist sites. Thus, Ouagadougou is often requested to accommodate numerous festivals and international conferences.
